WHD is underway, it’s Europe's largest hosting event! We are here in Cologne, Germany in a theme park called Phantasialand, actually in Bruehl near Cologne – which is quite popular on this side of the world. So far, a majority of the discussion at WHD has been around Cloud Computing. Yesterday, Jack Zubarev, President of Parallels took to the stage to talk about how the hosting industry can survive and thrive even in the current global economy.
Today promises to be an exciting day as well – Serquei Beloussov, Parallels CEO will deliver a keynote that addresses the unwavering popularity of all things cloud and discussed the Parallels vision towards the future as it relates to cloud computing and the big companies that are starting to move into the service provider space. Later Pat Correia and Matt Leonard will discuss how to get SaaS solutions to market quickly and how SaaS is growing and even more critical for Hosters and ISVs in the current economic climate.
We’ve had fun at the networking events are being kept quite busy with all the partners and track sessions, especially in the Booths where the traffic has been quite brisk. There are actually two Booths at WHD; Parallels Booth and an APS Booth co-sponsored by Parallels, 1 & 1, and Pinnacle Cart. The activity at our Parallels Booth has been quite busy and a full team is here demonstrating and featuring Parallels Optimized Computing products. The APS Booth has been fairly busy as well being that many WHD participants are interested in offering SaaS solutions and want to know more about how APS is enabling SaaS to create new revenue opportunities for Hosters.
Well, for now from Cologne, Auf Wiedersehen!
